House Calls by Dr. Sophia Dungan !!

We got a personal housecall from Dr. Sophia Dungan on Halloween...She was a Dr. of Optometry just like her Daddy !! She had her cute pink scrubs on with her name engraved on it, her pink crocs and of course her cute glasses.. She was so adorable and fell in love with Chessie when she came over...We love you Dr. Sophia !!

Josh the Vampire !!

Josh is such a scarey looking vampire that I had to share this picture with you ! He still loves to go trick or treating so Dylan will usually take him to a few neighbors homes that know him...It would be a scarey sight to open your door and see Josh the 6'3 vampire saying " trick or treat !" hahaha..

Date Night in Sept !!

John and I try to have "date night" at least once a month !! With busy work schedules, Dylan's soccer season and now "deer hunting" I think it will be hard to get John out again...We love going downtown to eat Thai food at "Basil" and we always have the most delicious meals and the best service always !! John even treated me for a ride in his beautiful vintage Mercedes !! What service !! Remember to make the time to be with each other !!

Our Date Night Babysitter !!

Yes, we left Chessie in charge of Josh and Dylan for the night...haha...She looks too laid back to reprimand anyone..Thank goodness for Dylan who takes such good care of his brother when we go out...Josh just loves hanging with his brother !!

John's Trailer Hitch !!!!

John's last project was updating his trailer for his boat...He put new posts with carpeting for the sides and put new trailer lights on it...He was so proud of his work and was ready to put the boat back on it's new udpated trailer...He and Dylan got the boat on the trailer and at the last moment the trailer started moving..John ran up front to steady the trailer and it fell off the wheel cart it was on right on John's right foot..Hitting an artery sending a fountain of blood everywhere Dylan finally got him to Summerville ER..I was at work when this happened and after Dylan's phone call met them there..Poor John, no broken bones but 5 stitches and a toe nail removal later he's doing ok...

Dylan, Grandpa and Josh !!

Our first visit with Grandpa who Josh has not seen since 2002 since his last visit to Honolulu...Dylan saw Grandpa in 2007 when his cousin Shane graduated..I told my Dad that he would be a midget compared to my boys and I was right !! It was a very happy reunion and the boys were happy to see Grandpa again !!

First Day at Sandy Beach !

Our first full day in Honolulu and we were headed to Sandy Beach..John loves to body surf there and the conditions were rough... high winds and huge waves..The red flags were out in full force and John of course went in...Dylan and Shane were monitoring the beach area and I wouldn't even get my feet wet...

Rabbit Island !

This is the beautiful view of Rabbit Island just off of Makapu'u Beach..

Aloha Gas Station

Yes, this gas station is really called Aloha...And yes, gas is really $3.33 a gallon there...It's the price you pay to live in Paradise !!

Night out in Waikiki !!

We enjoyed a delicious dinner at the Red Lobster with our very good friends Peter and Gigi Won...We hadn't seen each other in years and we had the best time playing catch up and enjoying each other's company...It was great to be able to spend lots of time with these wonderful people who open up their hearts to us always !! We love you Gigi and Peter !!

Josh at the Blowhole !!

Josh enjoyed watching the Blowhole waiting for the big waves to spout water..The day was very windy and rough, a lot of big waves..

Blowhole Lookout Point !

This lookout point is a great place to stop and watch the blowhole..When the huge waves come into the rocks it goes under and the force creates a blowhole..It's a great sight..Of course nobody listens to the sign that says " Danger ! Do not go beyond this wall..My family included !! " It's a pretty good cliff over that...

Blowhole Lookout Point !

This lookout point is very popular with the tourist especially the Japanese tourists. We got out to take pictures and all of a sudden I see John taking the opportunity to take pictures with the Japanese tourists..Then Dylan and Shane got into the picture too...The Japanese girls were very flattered and of course John did his best "hai doozo" impersonation !! That's John E...haha...

The Beach at Makapu'u !

Over on the windward side of the island is a beautiful beach called Makapu'u..It is frequented by the locals for bodysurfing..The beautiful coastline is mesmarizing and this was our route everyday into town...

Kim Chee Restaurant

In the town of Kaimuki there is a great Korean restaurant called Kim Chee II..You have your choice of Kalbi beef, teriyaki chicken and every korean delicacy you can imagine..and it's topped off by lots of kim chee..Yum..We took my dad there to celebrate Father's Day..My dad is pictured with the boys and I am pictured with my sister Patti..
