This lovely flower is a Tiare. It is a tahitian gardenia originally from Tahiti but it grows everywhere in Hawaii as well..It's fragrance is lovely but it is not used to make leis with as it is a fragile flower and will get brown when it gets warm. Growing up I used to wear one of these in my hair and if you see me now in SC I still do..Replicas from the Aloha swap meet are great !!
